When did Taurus® start adding the serial number to the right side of the barrel? My 2007 Mdl 85SS2UL and 2010 Mdl 605SS2 have it; my 2003 Mdl 617SS2 does not. Does anyone know? This Serial number pattern 1Dxxxxxx has shown up randomly now I think starting in late 2015 early 2016. This is what I think and it is only my opinion at this point and I have no facts to back it up.
